1) Cardiff set to land 15% of Ross McCormack fee
Cardiff City are set to receive 15% of the £11 million fee that Leeds United have fetched for Ross McCormack.
McCormack joined Fulham today for the large sum, making him the eighth most expensive British striker of all time.
However, not all of that money will stay at Elland Road due to a clause that was agreed in a deal that brought the 27-year-old to the club, from Cardiff, in the summer of 2010.
It now looks like shrewd business from Cardiff's perspective, with the clause landing them £1.65 million, which should help fund even more summer additions as they look for an immediate return to the Premier League.
2) Leeds hoping to sign Eric Matoukou
Leeds are aiming to sign Cameroonian international Eric Matoukou, as David Hockaday looks to add to his squad for the upcoming season.
Matoukou, a commanding centre-back, is a free-agent after his contract at Dnipro expired and Sky Sports report that Leeds are aiming to bring him to Elland Road this summer.
If they are to sign him they will have to compete with fellow Championship clubs Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall, though, with his services in demand.
3) Huddersfield Town reject Middlesbrough bid for Adam Clayton
Huddersfield Town have rejected an offer from Middlesbrough for Adam Clayton, as the North-East based Championship outfit step up their interest for the central-midfielder.
Clayton is out of contract at the end of the season, and ‘Boro are keen to use this to advantage and land the former Leeds man for a cut-price.
However, Mark Robins is keen to keep hold of the 25-year-old and sees him as a key player in his plans for the future, so is reluctant to sell.
4) Sheffield Wednesday close in on Sam Hutchinson
Sheffield Wednesday are on the verge of sealing the signing of Sam Hutchinson, according to Sky Sports.
The former Chelsea defender is a free-agent and Wednesday have acted fast to get their man, getting his signature ahead of Millwall, who were also interested.
Hutchinson is expected to complete a deal in the near future, and is partaking in a medical at Hillsborough today.
5) Harrison McGahey all set to join Sheffield United
Blackpool youngster Harrison McGahey is set to complete a move to Sheffield United this week, after the Tangerines confirmed they are resigned to losing the 18-year-old.
McGahey is considered one of Blackpool’s finest prospects, but has opted to leave the club, who have a serious paucity of first-team players, to drop down a league to join Sheffield United.
The defender made three appearances for the Championship side last season and will be hoping that he can continue to get first team opportunities at his new club.
