'New season, new challenges...'
That is the message Manchester United forward Angelo Henriquez sent to his Instagram followers early on Tuesday morning, along with a picture of the Chilean in the red of his parent-club.
It was a timely reminder that the 20-year-old is still around at Old Trafford, following a less than successful loan spell at Real Zaragoza last season.
It started out well enough, with Henriquez netting four goals in his first five games for the Spanish side. But a dip in form and a spell on the bench saw him score just two more goals all season, ending up with six goals and one assist in 25 appearances.
When Henriquez arrived at Old Trafford in 2012, big things were expected of him, with many tipping him to have a similar impact to Javier Hernandez. But given his age that was always unlikely, and now at 20, he will be hoping to show Louis van Gaal what he is capable of.
With a contract until 2016, he still has time on his hands. But given the presence of Hernandez, Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Will Keane and James Wilson, Henriquez will have to enjoy an outstanding pre-season to force his way into van Gaal's first-team plans.
Far more likely is another loan move, but the sensible thing would be to see what he can do in the Premier League.
He is still young enough to live up to his huge potential, but with Wilson's emergence in particular, Henriquez will know he has to embrace any and all opportunities that come his way from now on.
