Belgium are out of the World Cup, the tournament dark horses eliminated at the quarter final stage after a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Argentina.
But regardless of the high hopes of their adoring fans they have still returned to their homeland with a heroes welcome. They failed to light up the World Cup - but the fans were still pleased with the performance of the team, especially after their barren spell for the past 12 years.
However their performance was certainly appreciated back home - in fact so much so, that they received a royal invitation from the Belgian Royal Family, to attend the Royal Palace.
No such furore when England get back at Luton in the past.
One player who had an up and down tournament for Belgium was Marouane Fellaini. The Manchester United man enjoyed his super-sub status in the opening game but struggled after that to make a significant impact.
And he was obviously very excited to meet the Royal Family, in their home yesterday.
He posted a picture on Twitter of the occasion with the attached message:
"Thanks for your hospitality yesterday! Souvenir of a great time."
Manchester United fans will now simply hope his inspiring summer makes him a better fit at United next season.
