We bring you the latest news from Newcastle United and Sunderland.

1) Newcastle offered Joel Campbell

Newcastle United have been offered Joel Campbell as part of the deal which takes Mathieu Debuchy to Arsenal.

The Toon are known to be on the hunt for a striker and the Gunners appear to seizing on this opportunity, by allowing Campbell to move to St. James’ Park as part of the deal for Debuchy.

Debuchy is undergoing a medical at Arsenal today, as he looks to complete a move to the North-London side.

Campbell has impressed at the World Cup for Costa Rica, but it seems that Arsene Wenger still does not consider him in his first-team plans and he could be used as a makeweight in the deal for the French international right-back.

2) Sylvain Marveaux and Hatem Ben Arfa forced to train with Newcastle youth-team

Alan Pardew appears to be taking drastic measure to ensure that unwanted pair, Sylvain Marveaux and Hatem Ben Arfa, leave Newcastle this summer.

The French duo were both forced to train with the youth-team today, with Pardew desperate to cash-in on them as he does not see either in his first-team plans for next season.

Ben Arfa’s availability has been touted around to a range of clubs, but as yet the club have received no offers as the struggle to offload the mercurial winger.

Marveaux, meanwhile, had reportedly come back to pre-season in fine fitness in the hope of impressing Pardew, but that plan seems to have failed.

3) Emanuele Giaccherini could move to Galatasaray

Emanuele Giaccherini is being linked with a move to Galatasaray, by reports in Turkey.

Giaccherini has struggled to make an impact on Wearside after signing for the club last summer and could be set for a short stay in England.

He has previously been of interest to a range of Serie A clubs, but was keen to stay at Sunderland due to his high salary that could not be matched back in his native country.

However, Galatasaray’s interest could provide him with a fresh chance.

The link comes as new Gala manager, Cesare Prandelli, is a known fan of the winger, having worked with him for the Italian national team.

4) Sunderland insists Connor Wickham is not for sale

Sunderland have no intention of selling striking sensation, Connor Wickham, according to the Gazette.

Leicester City have been linked with making a move for the young striker, who excelled for the Black Cats towards the back end of last season.

And although no concrete bid has been made from the newly promoted club, Sunderland have already moved to quash the rumours that Wickham could be sold.

Gus Poyet sees the striker has a key component in his future plans for his side and has no intention on cashing-in on him.

5) Sunderland scout in Scotland for talent

Sunderland are keeping tabs on Hearts defender Jordan McGhee, as they look to add defenders capable of enhancing the squad this summer.

McGhee played 17 times for Hearts last season, despite only being 17-years-old and it is thought that Sunderland have already seen his potential.

The club had scouts watching the talented youngster in Hearts’ pre-season friendly against Dinamo Bucharest and are now contemplating making a bid.
