The wait was finally over on Monday as Manchester United revealed their new home kit for next season.
Along with the full advert that concluded with Wayne Rooney and co revealing the Chevrolet-sponsored shirt, United’s official website and Twitter account revealed a series of pictures of the current squad in their best model-poses.
In fact, click on the club’s official Twitter page right now and you will see a picture of the entire first-team squad all looking dapper in the new kit. Except, there is one man missing – Anderson.
While even new signings Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera have found their way into the picture, the Brazilian midfielder is conspicuous by his absence.
Rumours have persisted for some time linking the former FC Porto player with a permanent move away from Old Trafford. But following a somewhat disappointing loan spell at Fiorentina, the 26-year-old’s future remains a mystery.
With two years left on his current deal, he could theoretically remain until the summer of 2015. And yet having been omitted from the new promotional material, are the club subtly suggesting that his time there is all but over?
Of course that is simply speculation, but it appears every single member of Louis van Gaal’s current first-team squad is present apart from Anderson, which may just be a sign of things to come…
