Chelsea transfer news: Fresh £15m bid, Hazard to follow in Reus footsteps, Traore

All the latest transfer news from Chelsea including a new £15m bid for Atletico Madrid man, Bertrand Traore, Ashley Cole, Sam Hutchinson and Thorgan Hazard.

Chelsea are prepared to meet Atletico Madrid half-way in the La Liga championship-winning team's valuation over primary full back Filipe Luis, of Brazil.

The Spanish team regard their left back to be a £19 million player and, while the Blues seemingly refused to move higher than the £12 million offer that was submitted yesterday, reports today indicate that Jose Mourinho and the upper brass at Stamford Bridge have improved their bid to £15 million.

Luis is regarded to be the long-term replacement for defensive mainstay Ashley Cole who this week completed his move to AS Roma where he will stay for two seasons with an option for a one-year renewal.

Roma welcomed Cole to "the Eternal City" here and there is a video below highlighting the airport reaction Cole's arrival in the city generated.

Three outbound deals were also announced as complete today, also.

Sam Hutchinson signed a permanent deal with Sheffield Wednesday.

Gifted teenager Bertrand Traore will enjoy another loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem - this time for the whole season, rather than the concluding five months of the year. The 18-year-old's return has "thrilled" technical director Mohammed Allach.

Another precocious talent, Thorgan Hazard, will spend one year developing away from Cobham as the Belgian attacker has joined Borussia Monchengladbach.

He said: "First of all I am happy that I can now play for Borussia. I do not know too much about the club, but I hope that I will soon learn more about it. I know that Marco Reus has played here and of course I also know [about] my fellow countryman Filip Daems. Everything else I will certainly learn in the coming time.

"I now must also get to know my new team, so it's perhaps a little too early to talk about it. I'll try to do my best and to attend as many games as possible. That's the most important thing for me."

Max Eberl, Borussia sporting director, added: "Thorgan is a promising talent, he is on the offensive in several positions applicable and we are delighted that he has decided to take the next step in his career with Borussia Monchengladbach."

Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho called on two of his Blues - Willian and Oscar - to be capable of fulfilling the boots vacated by Neymar in front of an expectant nation.

And finally, here's the promised video showcasing Cole's popularity in Rome.
