Southampton have signed Dusan Tadić from FC Twente for a fee of £10.9million.
Southampton fans have finally received some good news this transfer window after securing their first signing in Serbian international Dušan Tadić.
The 25-year-old will hopefully be the first of many new additions for the club who have seen star players Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw all depart the club for pastures new.
It emerged last week that FC Twente had reached an agreement to sell the wide midfielder to the Saints, which was all but confirmed when he was left out of Micheal Jansen's side for their preseason friendly against VV Oldenzaal on Sunday.
Following the signing, Tadic said, "This is a really nice club of which I have heard a lot of good things about."
Tadic's form in the Eredivisie last season also reportedly caught the attention of Sevilla and Schalke 04, but neither could match the spending power of Southampton, who have brought in approximately £55million from sales alone this summer.
He was regarded by many as the best and most technically-gifted player in the Dutch league last season. He scored 16 goals and assisted a further 14 in the 33 league games in which he featured for Twente.
