All in the name of modding, “we do not support cheating online’ say hackers
According to the video description “on-the-fly RAM edits” were achieved by an exploit the hackers have found in the Wii U's browser. The video is below for you to see the result of the hacks.
The hackers purposefully do not give away any details of their methods and have no plans for any exploits to be made public or for them to be used by cheaters. Insead the hacks the group have discovered will allow for enterprising mods of MK8 to be made. The Youtube description goes on to say,
"All of this may not look impressive, but it's merely because we don't even know where to start; we can do anything now, anything at all! Custom tracks, custom songs, you name it. We just have to decipher the RAM and work out how."
MrBean35000vr previously contributed to CTGP Revolution a mod for Mario Kart Wii that added 216 custom tracks to the game that participating modders could play online competitively.
