A proposed meeting between the player, his agent Alessandro Lucci and Fiorentina club president Andrea Della Valle will take place in the next few days where the Serie A outfit are expected to make one last-ditch attempt to convince their star by offering to up his wages.
The Colombian international has become one of Europe’s most desired transfers this summer following an excellent campaign in Serie A last season and a solid World Cup in Brazil.
A number of top Premier League clubs are said to have inquired about the star and if reports are to be believed then Arsenal appear the first to have made their move.
The Gunners, known to be late movers in the market, have so far fallen behind their Premier League rivals on the transfer front this summer and it has left a portion of the Emirates supporters started to question Arsene Wenger’s motives.
Diario Sport, however, state that the North Londoners are the most likely to challenge Barcelona for Cuadrado’s signature and that a formal offer has been put in for the Fiorentina ace.
“Arsenal have been the first to present a formal offer, a fixed proposal of €28 million.” Diario reports.
Serie A outfit Fiorentina are said to have called the offer derisory, hinting that the amount falls way below the player’s true value whilst the Colombian doesn’t appear keen for footballing reasons.
No new reports of an improved Arsenal offer have yet surfaced for Juan Cuadrado, and there could be a strong possibility that Arsene Wenger has decided to drop interest altogether to focus on securing a deal for Alexis Sanchez.
The Emirates outfit are rumoured to be close to striking a deal with the Catalans for the Chilean international with various reports hinting that an offer in the region of £32 million has been accepted.
