Transfer Clock: 56 days to go until the transfer window closes. Here is all the latest you need to know...

Debuchy and Sanchez near Arsenal deals

Arsenal are closing on a €50 million double swoop for Mathieu Debuchy and Alexis Sanchez. The Newcastle right-back was said to have flown back to England on Monday to complete a medical, report The Mail. French football website GFNFrance claim that he has passed the examinations and wants a deal wrapped up as soon as Tuesday. Estimated figures for the transfer range from between £8 million and £11 million. Arsenal have also been linked with loaning Carl Jenkinson or Joel Campbell to Newcastle as part of the transfer.

A spectacular transfer for Alexis Sanchez is also on the cards, with Marca reporting that Barcelona want to sell the Chilean this week. Juventus are believed now to be Arsenal's only competition, with Liverpool giving up on attracting the World Cup star, report The Mirror. Tying up both deals this week would appease any supporter disappointment at the club at a lack of signings in the transfer window so far, and see both players snapped up in time to feature as part of the pre-season program.

Chelsea face Lukaku fight

Chelsea face a real battle to keep hold of Romelu Lukaku next season after he said he wanted real action on his future. The Belgian is quoted in The Mirror stating a loan move is not good enough and he wants clarity on his future.

The Mirror's report claims in it's headline he wants to leave rather than go out on loan, with the player stating: "What I don’t want is to be loaned out."

He adds: "I want to show what I can do and play in the Champions League with a big club. The decision will soon be taken."

The Belgian international does not however say outright that leaving Chelsea is certain. If he gets backing from Jose Mourinho that he will be an integral part of his plans, then he surely will be convinced to stay. Mourinho's plans regarding him are as yet unclear.

Both Fernando Torres and Demba Ba also remain on the club's books alongside new signing Diego Costa, but the Mail report that Everton are keen to sign Ba, with his wages a sticking point.

Stoke in Ronaldinho link

Surely the most unexpected rumour of the day involves Stoke City and Ronaldinho. Stoke paper The Sentinel suggest the possibility in the transfer column, admitting 'nobody knows quite where this rumour began'.

Ronaldinho, 34, currently plays for Atletico Mineiro in Brazil, and is believed to be happy in South America.

Manchester United re-focus on Hummels

Manchester United are to once again sound out Mats Hummels over a transfer, report The Star. The German international is widely reported to be manager Louis van Gaal's top defensive target, but he has previously committed his future to Borussia Dortmund.

The paper suggest that United are to launch one more attempt to sign the World Cup star this summer, believing they are still in with a shot of landing him.

The same report also suggests Toni Kroos' possible transfer to Real Madrid could see United lose out on Arturo Vidal, with Bayern Munich very keen on the coveted Juventus midfielder as a potential replacement.
