Tony Fernandes' Instagram post seems to hint that he is hoping to keep Remy at QPR, despite Tottenham's and Arsenal's interest

Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes has posted a picture of Loic Remy on his official Instagram account calling him ‘one of the world-class players at QPR’.

The front-man was widely expected to leave Loftus Road this summer, with Arsenal and Tottenham both reportedly ready to pounce, but this post has sparked rumours that Remy could be set to stay at Queens Park Rangers.

Remy has recently been playing at the World Cup with France, but has returned from Brazil recently and is expected to sort his future out soon.

Before today that was expected to be at one of the Premier League's top clubs, but Fernandes’ apparent desire to keep him at the Hoops may throw Spurs’ and Arsenal’s transfer plans into jeopardy.

The North-London rivals are both said to be competing for Remy’s signature, after being impressed by the time he spent last season on loan at Newcastle United, where he scored 14 goals in 26 appearances.

QPR, meanwhile, were battling for promotion in the Championship and it took until the last minute of the playoff final until they finally confirmed their place back amongst England’s elite.

In that game Bobby Zamora swept home a vital winner against Derby County at Wembley to secure their place in the Premier League.

They now come back to the top division, having been relegated at the end of the 2012/13 campaign, with renewed vigour and are hoping to plot to use their enviable financial muscle in a more effective manner.

They have been looking to buy established stars, with Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard – who has now gone to the MLS – both reportedly of interest, but Fernandes seems to be hoping to keep most the quality he already has in his squad, too.

This includes Remy and, although it still is most likely that he will depart the club, the social media post will offer encouragement for supporters of the club that he could still be a QPR player for the upcoming season.
