New Chelsea signing Cesc Fabregas appears content with being back in London as he headed over to Wimbledon to watch Roger Federer take on Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final.
The Spanish international completed his £27million to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona at the beginning of June, causing somewhat of a stir among supporters of former club Arsenal.
The Gunners were said to have been in pole position to sign the player when it became obvious his relationship with Barcelona was at an end, yet boss Arsene Wenger rejected the chance to take him back leaving the door open for Chelsea to make their move.
It was later revealed that the Blues’ boss Jose Mourinho then picked up the phone and spoke with Fabregas personally and convinced the midfielder to move to West London.
The transition back to London life seems easy enough for the 27-year-old as Fabregas kept close ties to the capital due to his previous eight-year spell at Arsenal.
He recently posted a homecoming Sushi photo titled ‘Back home #London’ on his official Instagram account, and his Wimbledon visit today further enhances his easiness at being back in the English capital.
During his eight-year spell at Arsenal, Fabregas made 212 Premier League appearances and scored 35 goals.
He will be tasked with striking up a relationship with fellow Spanish international strikers Fernando Torres and Diego Costa next season as Mourinho bids to claim his third Premier League crown as Chelsea boss.
