Michael Owen: Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is the world’s best forward

Former Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United striker Michael Owen reveals who he thinks is the best forward in the world at the moment.

Michael Owen may believe that Liverpool should sell Luis Suarez if they can get £70 million (click here to read more), but he has no doubt about the quality that the striker possesses.

That is evident in the Liverpool legend stating on social networking site Twitter that, in his opinion, the Uruguay international is the best forward in the world at the moment.

Suarez was Liverpool’s best player last season, and it is safe to say that without the 27-year-old, the Reds would not have come anywhere close to finishing second in the Premier League.

However, following the unsavoury incident involving Suarez at the ongoing 2014 World Cup finals, it appears that Liverpool are ready to sell him.

It has been reported in the Spanish media that the Reds have accepted an offer of €75 million (£59.5m) from Barcelona for the former Ajax star (click here to read more).

But is Suarez worth that much money and is he the best forward in the world at the moment?

If one looks past Diego Costa’s World Cup failure for Spain, then one could say that the newly-signed Chelsea man is the best in his position in the world.

What about Sergio Aguero of Manchester City, Radamel Falcao of Monaco and Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Paris Saint-Germain?

Or Robert Lewandowski, who has joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer this summer after leaving Borussia Dortmund?

The list goes on and on and on...
