Fabregas sends ‘Back home’ message following Chelsea transfer

Stamford Bridge

New Chelsea signing Cesc Fabregas appears to be happy to have returned to London.

It is not often that a picture of some sushi proves the inspiration for a story about football. But then it is not every day that Cesc Fabregas returns to London.

The new Chelsea signing posted a picture on his official Instagram account of what appears to be Saturday night’s dinner, along with the message: “‘Back home’ #London.”

It remains to be seen how Arsenal fans will react to the comment, following the former Gunner's £27million move from Barcelona to Stamford Bridge; especially when his last “homecoming” saw him return to the Nou Camp following his seven seasons in North London.

But it seems the English capital is still very much in his heart, with London apparently a home-from-home and one that he is happy to reveal as such.

Fabregas’s move to Chelsea surprised many, not just in its apparent swiftness but also when you consider that both Arsenal and Manchester United appeared more likely to sign the Spanish international only for Jose Mourinho to swoop in and sign a savvy replacement for the outgoing Frank Lampard.

Now the 27-year-old will be hoping to fire his new club to the title at the expense of both his former side and the club who were reportedly the favourites to sign him 12 months previous.
