Manchester United transfer news: Race for right-back; player’s agent in Brazil as rumours persist

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra’s agent is said to be in Brazil to dicscuss the player’s future.

Despite receiving a one-year contract extension at Old Trafford, the arrival of Luke Shaw has put the older left-back’s future into question. And now Forza Italian Football has picked up on claims from Sky Sport Italia that Evra’s agent watched him in Friday’s World Cup quarter-final between France and Germany.

While many would assume he was simply watching his client in action, it is being claimed the agent’s presence was in order for the two men to discuss a possible move to Juventus.

In other news, the Daily Mail reports that Newcastle United have joined the race for Feyenoord right-back Daryl Janmaat.

The Dutch international is likely to leave this summer having reportedly rejected a new deal in his homeland. And while Louis van Gaal is said to want the player at Old Trafford, it seems Alan Pardew could now muscle in on the possible deal.

Janmaat has also previously been linked with Arsenal, although those reports have gone cold in recent months.
