Liverpool transfer news: Rodgers interested in USA star; Sanchez reportedly holds key to Suarez move

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

The Guardian reports that Liverpool have yet to reach an agreement with Barcelona over the possible move of Luis Suarez to La Liga.

The rumours have gone into overdrive in recent days, but the newspaper claims no deal will happen until next week at the earliest.

It is suggested this is because of Liverpool’s desire to see Alexis Sanchez included in any deal that sees Suarez move to the Nou Camp.

In a sea of claim and counter-claim, it is refreshing to read a more astute commentary on proceedings. But despite that it appears Reds fans are no closer to knowing if – or when – Suarez could depart Anfield and who may ultimately replace him if that occurs.

In other news, the Metro has picked up on reports from America which claim Liverpool are interested in Seattle Sounders defender DeAndre Yedlin.

The 20-year-old impressed for USA during the World Cup, and the latest report claims Brendan Rodgers could invite the right-back to have a trial at Anfield.

It is claimed that if the trial is succesful, Liverpool could make their move before the end of the summer transfer window.
