All the latest summer transfer news from La Liga...
Benfica midfielder Enzo Perez enjoyed a superb season with the Portuguese giants, and had subsequently been linked with transfers to both Manchester United and Valencia. Whilst United have signed Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao to solve their midfield woes, Valencia continue to be suggested as a destination for the Argentine international - but he says that he wants to stay with Benfica.
"I haven’t agreed anything at all with Valencia. I’ve seen it said that I’ve even had a medical [with Valencia], but I don’t want to leave Benfica," said Perez. "After the World Cup, we’ll have to sit down with the clubs and talk about the future."
Malaga are set to lose goalkeeper Willy Caballero to Manchester City this summer as the Argentine looks poised for a reunion with manager Manuel Pellegrini. It's obviously a big blow to the La Liga side, but they are reportedly interested in bringing a player from the Premier League club to the club.
Caballero's compatriot Bruno Zuculini recently joined City from Racing Club de Avellaneda, but with a number of midfielders already at the club, the 21-year-old could feasibly be loaned out to Malaga in order to gain first team football and accelerate his development.
Whilst most of the speculation surrounding Real Madrid concerns new arrivals, one player has already left the club this summer. Russian winger Denis Cheryshev spent last season on loan with Sevilla, and now the 23-year-old is off to Villarreal for the season - and he has revealed why he joined the club.
"I’m excited and eager to start the season. I’m very happy to have joined Villarreal, because this is a very important opportunity. The interest from the president and the manager has been the key factor in me coming here. I’ll be giving my all to help us go as far as we can in all three competitions and to return the confidence that they have placed in me."
