Germany have progressed to the semi-finals of the World Cup for the third time in a row.
The three-time world champions got the better of their European rivals France 1-0 in the quarter-final at the Estadio do Maracana in Rio de Janeiro on Friday.
Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels scored the only goal of the encounter after just 13 minutes, as Die Mannschaft continued to maintain their status as the most consistent international team of the century.
A number of Arsenal players were involved in the clash, including the French duo of Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud.
However, they ended on the losing side, as their Arsenal teammates Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker rejoiced in victory.
While midfielder Ozil played until 83rd minute, forward Podolski and defender Mertesacker were unused substitutes for the encounter.
After the match, the Arsenal trio were sent a congratulatory message on social networking site Twitter by their club teammate Jack Wilshere.
England international Wilshere also featured in Brazil, but the 22-year-old could not make any significant impact as the Three Lions failed to progress beyond the group stage.
Wilshere is still following the tournament, though. After all, how can one miss what is turning out to be arguably the best World Cup ever?
