Antoine Griezmann has been at Real Sociedad his entire professional career, but he could be on the move this summer.
That’s because some of Europe’s top clubs are reportedly tracking him, one of them being Arsenal.
Back in March, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger confirmed his interest in the France international winger, stating that he has been ‘following Antoine Griezmann for a long time’.
European champions Real Madrid are also reported to be interested in the 23-year-old, whose performances in recent years have helped him establish himself as one of the best players in his position in Spain.
Last season, Griezmann, who is valued at £22 million by Transfermarkt.co.uk, scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 35 La Liga appearances for La Real, who finished fourth in the Spanish top flight.
A call-up to France’s World Cup squad followed, and the winger was even given a start in Les Bleus’ quarter-final clash against Germany at the Estadio do Maracana in Rio de Janeiro on Friday.
However, France failed to do much in the contest other than suffer a 1-0 defeat and get knocked out of the tournament. It was still more than what many would have expected of Didier Deschamps' side, who qualified for the finals only via a playoff.
Griezmann, though, was bitterly dejected following France’s defeat and described it as the ‘biggest disappointment’ of his career, according to RTL.
But now that his World Cup is over, there will be speculation on his future. Will Griezmann be thinking about that?
No, according to the attacker, who said: ‘Now it's time for vacation and rest’.
It will be a deserved ‘vacation and rest’ for a player who had a truly brilliant season for Sociedad in 2013-14.
