Current and former Premier League stars react to David Luiz’s wonderstrike

Current and former Premier League stars took to Twitter in order to praise former Chelsea player David Luiz’s stunning free-kick for Brazil.

Former Chelsea star David Luiz often lit up Stamford Bridge with his thunderous shots, and the Blues' supporters were treated to some cracking goals over the past few years.

Luiz made a total of 143 appearances for Chelsea before moving to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, scoring 12 goals with the majority of them coming from his trusty right foot.

The Premier League will miss his regular long run-ups and flapping hair reminiscent of The Simpsons character Sideshow Bob, but we can all take comfort in knowing that Luiz’s goals will most likely follow us everywhere.

The 27-year-old has a rocket of a shot on him, and Brazil’s South American rivals Colombia were the latest to be on the receiving end during their World Cup quarter-final clash.

With Brazil leading 1-0 midway through the second half, Luiz caused a sensation in Fortaleza as he arrowed a near 35-yard screamer into the top corner from a free-kick.

It was a goal which will certainly live long in memory, and a number of Luiz’s ex-Chelsea teammates, Premier League stars and former players took to Twitter to show their appreciation for his strike.
