All the latest summer transfer news from the Bundesliga...
After a protracted transfer saga, Hamburg have finally tied up the permanent signing of Hertha Berlin striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga. The 22-year-old enjoyed a superb season on loan at the Imtech Arena, and despite dwindling finances and interest from Newcastle United, Hamburg have snapped him up on a five-year contract.
"It's fantastic that it's now gone through and my situation has been resolved," said the striker. "I'm delighted to be able to continue playing for HSV. I hope that this can be the start of a new, successful period for me. I'm pleased to be able to do my bit in helping create a new HSV."
The World Cup often puts new players in the spotlight, yet whilst Cameroon's campaign was as bad as it could have been, one player has come out of it well. Mainz forward Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting has moved on a free transfer to Bundesliga rivals Schalke as the club look to boost their attack.
"He can play in several positions but we're planning on a central position in attack for him initially," Schalke's general manager Horst Heldt said,
With Choupo-Moting arriving at the Veltins Arena, one forward had to go and whilst speculation continues over Dutch international Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, it was Hungarian Adam Szalai who was sold by the Gelsenkirchen outfit, with Hoffenheim moving to sign the former Real Madrid man.
"I like the mentality and the character of this team," said the 26-year-old. "If I was ever going to leave (Schalke), then Hoffenheim were always going to be my first choice."
