Liverpool have reached an agreement with Barcelona over the transfer of Luis Suarez, according to a report.

The two clubs have been holding talks in London this week, and it appears that they have decided on a transfer fee.

According to TV3, Barcelona will pay the Reds €75 million (£59.5m) for the 27-year-old Uruguay international striker, who will sign a five-year contract with the Spanish giants.

It has also been reported that Barca forward Alexis Sanchez is not part of the deal. The Chile international is reportedly on the radar of both Liverpool and Arsenal, with Juventus also said to be interested in securing the 25-year-old’s services.

Liverpool are also ready to allow goalkeeper Pepe Reina leave on a permanent basis this summer.

The Spain international played on loan at Italian club Napoli last season after failing to convince Reds manager Brendan Rodgers that he can be his first-choice goalkeeper.

According to Italian daily Il Mattino, as reported by Football Italia, the former English champions have informed Napoli that they are willing to accept less than €4m (£3.2m) that they had originally wanted for the 31-year-old.

However, it has also been reported that the Naples outfit are not interested in signing the former Villarreal custodian on a permanent basis, meaning that Reina will not return to Napoli for the 2014-15 campaign.

Meanwhile, Liverpool had had their bid for Southampton defender Dejan Lovren rejected, according to a report.

The Merseyside outfit reportedly made an offer of around £20m for the 24-year-old Croatia international, but, according to ESPN, it has been turned down.

New Saints manager Ronald Koeman wants to keep centre-back Lovren in his squad, as he has seen three key players leave the club already this summer (Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw).
