Southampton have returned to tradition after unveiling their new home kit for the 2014/15 season. The strip has been unveiled with a clear message: "the stripes are back."

The new strip celebrates Saints’ long and rich heritage with a design that is “bespoke and unique” to the club.
Below, Southampton trio Jay Rodgriguez, Jose Fonte and James Ward-Prowse can be seen modelling the south coast outfit's latest merchandise, accompanied by the club's catchy slogan.
The red and white stripped-shirt features a red v-neck collar and sleeves with black shorts, accompanied by red socks with black hoops. The kit is in stark contrast to releases from the past two seasons, in which the club’s infamous stripes were vacated for an unfamiliar all red jersey.
Southampton experienced an exhilarating campaign last season, but this has come at a price. The club’s supporters have been forced to endure a difficult summer, as they’ve witnessed the departure of a number of key squad members, including Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw, and most recently, Adam Lallana.
The Saints have also undergone a change in management, with the departure of Mauricio Pochettino – the man who masterminded last term’s 8th place finish. The Argentine head coach opted to make the switch to London, when approached by a manager-less Tottenham Hotspur.
Fans can now expect to see Dutch football legend Ronald Koeman leading the side next season, after the former Feyenoord boss took the vacant post on a three-year contract.
The unveiling of the 2014/15 home kit will at least bring a small sense of stability back to a club that has experienced a rocky few months, to say the least.
Here is the fans reaction to the club’s latest announcement:
Love the Saints new home kit. Hopefully Liverpool don't buy it. #TheStripesAreBack— Con-J ∆ (@ConnorJack23) July 4, 2014
Even Saints forward Jay Rodriguez took to Twitter to express his admiration for the club's new strip:
