Arsenal transfer news: £30m double swoop mooted; Alexis agent drops Twitter hint

Arsenal v Southampton 2012 Pregame with Schneiderlin

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.

Arsenal are rumoured to be weighing up a £30 million double swoop on Southampton for their centre back Dejan Lovren and holding midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

The Saints pair were sensational last season and are now earmarked as targets for several clubs across the country and Europe. The departure of chairman Nicola Cortese and manager Mauricio Pochettino has seen the likes of Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana depart St Marys this summer.

However, despite both players being keen on a move, Southampton are said to be adamant that no more players will leave the club this summer - after already seeing three of their biggest stars depart for pastures new.

Alexis Sanchez's agent has dropped something of a howler regarding the future of his client - or indeed he has stoked up even more interest in the Chilean forward, through Twitter.

Fernando Felicevich had gone on a Twitter rampage, following a long list of stars from the Arsenal first-team this week - including Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil, Mikel Arteta and Santi Cazorla - along with the official Arsenal Twitter account.

Arsenal are currently believed to be the favourites, from the Premier League at least, in the race for Barcelona star.

Arsenal are rumoured to be taking another look at Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o - who is currently a free agent. The former Inter Milan and Barcelona striker left Chelsea this month after one season at Stamford Bridge.

Everton are also being mentioned as an interested party despite his woeful World Cup campaign for the Indomitable Lions.

Arsenal are believed to be on the verge of signing Anderlecht wonderkid David Henen. The talented Belgian, previously a transfer target for Manchester United, is said to be on his way to The Gunners for a fee in the region of £1 million.

The 18-year-old is a talented forward and would reportedly be loaned back to Anderlecht for next season.
