Arsenal and United fans hijack #JoinLFC Sanchez campaign on Twitter

Alexis Sanchez Chile

Liverpool wanted to convince Alexis Sanchez to arrive on Merseyside this summer.

Plenty of clubs this summer have been linked with a move for Alexis Sanchez - but Liverpool have been the most talked about interested party of the day.

Liverpool are open to the idea of selling Luis Suarez after his latest moment of madness saw him sink his teeth into the shoulder of Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini. The team being heavily linked with his signature are Barcelona - but Liverpool want more than just cash for the problematic Uruguayan.

With that in mind they are asking for Barca to throw the Chilean forward into the deal.

However the rumour mill appears to suggest that Alexis is not keen on a Liverpool switch. He is reportedly more favourable to a switch to Juventus or Arsenal and Manchester United from the Premier League.

With that in mind the Liverpool Echo decided to run a hashtag special on Twitter, to try and convince Alexis that Anfield was the right place to continue his career.

However it was almost immediately, and predictably, overtaken by Arsenal and United fans trolling themselves silly.

However, the worst thing of all ... Alexis Sanchez doesn't even have Twitter. A fruitless endeavour.
