Reports in France are claiming that Porto have accepted a bid from Man City for French defender Eliaquim Mangala.
According to French football website L'Equipe, Porto are willing to let the defensive star leave the club after accepting an offer in the region of £32 million from the Premier League champions.
Mangala has been courted by many of Europe's biggest clubs including the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and Chelsea, with the London Evening Standard also reporting Jose Mourinho's is also keeping tabs on the 23-year-old.
The L'Equipe source stresses that no deal regarding personal terms between City and Mangala has yet been struck or even discussed. Recent reports suggests he would prefer a move to either arch rivals Manchester United or even title rivals Chelsea.
It's no surprise that Manuel Pellegrini is in the market for a new centre-back after seeing his back four struggle last season despite them eventually winning the Premier League title.
The campaign of young Serbian Matija Nastisic was hampered with injuries, and Martin Demichelis rarely looked solid in the youngster's place.
Yesterday reports revealed that Roma had rebuffed City's offer for Moroccan centre-back Mehdi Benatia.
The billionaire backed side will be wanting to get a deal done for either defender sooner rather than later. They head off on their tour of the US later this month and will be hoping to bed in any new additions during that time.
