Just weeks after the supernatural detective game launches Airtight Games close their Redmond headquarters.
A post on Geekwire has alerted us of the news Airtight Games have closed with the site reporting their Redmond office has been shuttered and the office equipment is being sold off.
Although Airtight execs are yet to comment on their sudden office shut-down this news surfaces following earlier layoffs at the Studio. Talking to IGN at the time Airtight’s Jim Deal assured that 14 redundancies from the studio were, “part of the normal ebb and flow of game production,” and that, “Existing projects are on schedule and Airtight Games is actively seeking partners for exciting upcoming projects."
Now less than a month since their latest big project the experimental AAA action title Murdered: Soul Suspect things would appear to be less rosy for the studio.
Airtight Games was originally established in 2004 and has developed Dark Void, Quantum Conundrum, and Soul Fjord. before Murdered Soul Suspect.
Although Murdered isn't everyone’s cup of tea we’ve enjoyed playing it (look out for our review soon) and the news comes as a surprise.
