All the latest summer transfer news from La Liga...
Yesterday it was reported yesterday that Real Madrid would sell both of their senior goalkeeper Iker Casillas and Diego Lopez, but now speculation today suggests that long-serving Casillas will stay at the club, with only Lopez set to be sold in the summer.
Casillas' regression has been huge to say the very least, but manager Carlo Ancelotti must be confident that the 33-year-old can rediscover his best form. Meanwhile, former Villarreal stopper Lopez being strongly linked with a move to Napoli, where Rafael Benitez is seeking a new goalkeeper having been priced out of a move for loanee Pepe Reina.
The player that Madrid reportedly wanted to replace Casillas and Lopez was Levante stopper Keylor Navas. The 27-year-old has been one of the stars of the World Cup, playing a key role in Costa Rica's remarkable passage to the last eight of the tournament in Brazil.
Unsurprisingly, his displays have attracted interest from a number of clubs - aside from Madrid. Yet Levante have turned down bids from Porto and Atletico Madrid, who offered €3m and €5m respectively. It's believed that Navas has a €10m release clause in his contract, and the La Liga side won't accept anything less than that.
Staying with Atletico, Diego Simeone's side will need to replace Diego Costa after it was confirmed that the Brazilian-turned-Spaniard will move to Chelsea. Whilst their primary target appears to be Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo, they have now lined up an offer for Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean looks set to leave the Camp Nou this summer, and whilst Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to be interest in the former Udinese star, Atletico are hoping to offer him the chance to stay in Spain - though whether Barcelona would sell to a title rival.
