Chelsea fans gave mixed reactions after Eden Hazard's performance for Belgium against the USA.

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has been a regular feature in the Belgium side that has made it into the last eight of the World Cup in Brazil.

He was Jose Mourinho’s standout player in attack last season and someone who will be integral to the Blues heading into the new Premier League campaign as Mourinho looks to bring the title back to Stamford Bridge.

However, Hazard faces three more matches with Belgium before he gets the chance to fly back to London before linking up with the Blues ahead of the new season.

His performances at the World Cup so far have been difficult to gauge and in some cases simply frustrating.

He’s lost none of his ability to control and protect the ball, running at the opposition to try and pierce their defence and get an opportunity in the final third.

He’s sometimes been muted during World Cup games because sides are working harder to keep him quiet. He’s a world class player and the sort of attacker who can tear a side apart in a split second.

What Mourinho will most likely be pleased with is that he’s made the right decisions at the right time and hasn’t looked selfish when a teammate has been in a better position.

However, Chelsea fans will be disappointed not to have seen more from their man man at the tournament considering the potential and ability he has to decide key games. If Belgium are to win the tournament in Brazil, he needs to dominate more than he has been doing.

He looked exhausted when he was taken off by Marc Wilmots in the 111th minute of the game but he worked hard in the face of sensible USA tactics, which were designed to frustrate him and stop him from having any impact on the game..

Here’s what they had to say about his performance on Twitter.
