Left-back Ben Davies is a priority in a position where the club need a new option, while the third man of interest is goalkeeper Michael Vorm. Vorm is the one player they may decide to drop from the deal, after Brad Friedel extended his contract as cover for Hugo Lloris. Arsenal progress on Mathieu Debuchy deal
Arsenal have reportedly agreed a fee of £12 million with Newcastle for Mathieu Debuchy, exclusively report The Star. The right-back is wanted to replace Bacary Sagna who has now departed the club on a free transfer, to be unveiled by Manchester City after the World Cup. France's participation in the tournament is now the only obstacle holding up Arsenal's move for Debuchy. Newcastle close on Siem de Jong
Ajax captain Siem de Jong has reportedly passed a medical at Newcastle United. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder is an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal and is seen as a replacement for Yohan Cabaye, who was sold to PSG in January. Siem is the brother of striker Luuk de Jong who had an unsuccessful loan spell at Newcastle last season. De Jong netted nine goals for Ajax in all competitions last season.
Adam Lallana to Liverpool
Liverpool have announced the completed deal of Adam Lallana from Southampton, after agreeing a fee of £23 million plus add-ons. The Englishman will wear the number 20 shirt for the Reds and follows Rickie Lambert in swapping the Saints for Liverpool.
Chelsea announce Diego Costa deal
Chelsea have issued a statement on their website announcing they have agreed a fee with Atletico Madrid for striker Diego Costa. The Blues have confirmed they have met the £32 million buyout clause, and the Spanish international is likely to be unveiled this week.
