Adam Lallana completed his long-awaited move to Liverpool from Southampton on Tuesday for a fee believed to be in the region of £25m.
The midfielder has been one of Liverpool's main targets in the transfer window as the Reds look to strengthen their squad for a tilt at the Premier League title, and for their return to the Champions League.
Liverpool fans took to twitter to react to the deal. Some thought the fee was a little too high for the player who got into last season's Premier League team of the year having had an excellent season at Southampton, whilst some think he will fit into the Reds style of player perfectly.
There has been talk amongst some fans that he could be the difference for Liverpool in order for them to have a successful season as his versatility gives manager Brendan Rodgers more options going into the new season.
The reaction of the majority was positive, but there are a couple of voices expressing a degree of concern, and are cautious to hail the 26-year-old as a good signing before he's even pulled on a red shirt.
Here is what a few of the twitter users had to say:
Very very happy with the Llanna signing, price a bit steep, but thats the premium for British players. #LallanaLFC— Mark McSherry (@mmcsherry80) July 1, 2014
