As they say, there is no smoke without fire.
Alexis Sanchez’s future at Barcelona has been a topic of discussion for quite some time, with a whole host of clubs were reported to be interested in him.
And now Barcelona have confirmed that they have indeed receive offers for the former Udinese star, but they have refused to name the clubs who have made them.
‘Regarding the future of Alexis Sanchez, there have been offers for the player’, The Mirror quotes the club’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta as saying. ‘But I do not know how it will all end - we are looking for a solution which will be best for everyone’.
It is clear that Barcelona have offers from more than one club and any concrete decision have not been reached yet.
But which could be those clubs?
Manchester United were initially linked with a move for the 25-year-old, but those reports have died down.
Current media reports in England suggest that Arsenal are determined to sign Sanchez and are preparing a £32 million offer; the Gunners’ Premier League rivals Liverpool have also been credited with an interest. Catalan newspaper Sport claims that the Chile international prefers the North London club to the Merseyside outfit.
Juventus are likely to be one of the teams, as they have been interested in the former Colo-Colo star for over a year (click here to read more about it). And given that the Italian champions are looking to launch an assault on the Champions League next season, they could well make a more determined attempt this time.
Which clubs have made offers will probably be disclosed in the coming days, but one thing is clear now: Sanchez is likely to leave Barcelona.
