Spanish side reportedly make Thorgan Hazard a priority with Liverpool still interested

Chelsea's Thorgan Hazard is reportedly a priority for one club while still being monitored by others.

Chelsea player Thorgan Hazard is a priority for La Liga side Valencia according to a report.

Spanish website Superdeporte claims Valencia are in pole position for a player they are very keen on bringing in, but that Liverpool, Malaga and Schalke are all chasing the 21-year-old.

Hazard enjoyed a brilliant two-season loan spell at Zulte-Waregem and now looks set to take a step up, with Jose Mourinho reportedly telling the player’s father he has a specific plan for the second Hazard brother.

Thierry Hazard has been quoted as saying, “I’ve had a meeting with Jose Mourinho on Thorgan’s future. He wants to loan him again, but to a higher-rated league.”

La Liga is certainly that, and Valencia are looking to build a formidable new team following their recent takeover.

Hazard scored 17 goals and set up a further 20 on loan last season, and he is a player who would improve a whole host of clubs.

Whether he were to move to Spain, Germany or sign for another Premier League side, that would in essence be the final test to see if he could cut it at the top level, proof to Mourinho that he has what it takes to follow in his older sibling’s footsteps.

And if the latest report is true, it seems Valencia will do their utmost to sign a player who could one day be starring in a Chelsea shirt…but not just yet.
