RWC adds two new members to sales team

RWC has announced that Matteo Cianfoni and Roderick Loffler are joining its sales team to bolster resources in Italy and the UK.

Cianfoni, who will join RWC in August, was responsible for Italian sales at GLG for almost five years having previously worked at Morgan Stanley in the equity derivatives division. Roderick Loffler has been at RWC for three years and joins the sales team from his previous role within client services.

In addition, RWC recently hired Jillian Smythe and Flora Summerfield. Jillian worked at Plurimi Capital having spent more than four years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Prime Brokerage. Flora joins having gained significant experience at global consultants, Cardano and Aon Hewitt and will support client services for the Institutional market.

Commenting on the announcement, James Tollemache, Head of Sales at RWC, said: 'Over the last eighteen months, RWC’s assets have doubled to just under £6bn today, with much of this growth coming from our discretionary and advisory clients within the UK and Europe. Supported by a more constructive equity market, our strategies have become increasingly relevant as assets flow to active managers who have entirely unconstrained approaches. It is imperative to us that we continue to deliver differentiated and interesting investment funds, where our investment teams and clients are supported by the highest quality marketing and infrastructure. 

'We launched our Global Enhanced Dividend Fund a month ago which raised over $100m in its first week reflecting the demand for income strategies within the equity space. Our offering is somewhat unique in that it has an approach that offers investors relatively low volatility (versus the global equity indices) with an enhanced yield of about 6%. There is still huge demand for income within the UK market and we are seeing this demand filter out across Europe as fixed income assets become increasingly risky.

'Matteo comes to us at a time of strong growth within our Italian business, and we want to offer our clients an increased level of local support. He will be responsible for the ongoing development of RWC’s wholesale and institutional business in Italy. 

'Roddy joining as a full time member of the sales team is the first of a number of developments we are making to our client proposition in the UK market, and we are pleased to welcome Jillian and Flora too, to further strengthen the team.

Our fund offering has developed in the last couple of years and is providing funds that aim to deliver outcomes for intermediaries that support the changing needs of their clients.
