Arturo Vidal has been one of the stars of this summer’s World Cup, and following Chile’s elimination at the hands of Brazil, the rumours linking him with a summer move are expected to come thick and fast.
The Juventus midfielder is hot property, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid among the clubs linked with him.
But Italian website Tuttosport claims it is United who are in the box-seat for arguably the best signing they would make since Cristiano Ronaldo.
Tuttosport has published quotes from Vidal, in which he said, “Now I will take a little holiday. I need to relax with the family, so I can come back stronger than before.”
But where exactly will he be playing next season? When asked about the prospect of leaving Juventus, Vidal is quoted as saying, “No. Don’t worry. Do not worry.”
And yet the report goes on to suggest Juve fans may be wise to do just that, with the claim that while a number of clubs are interested in the outstanding midfielder, it is United who are “proving the most interesting to the player through direct and indirect contacts with Juventus.”
Whether that ultimately leads to a big-money move remains a mystery, but there is no doubt Vidal would turn United into contenders once again.
