The report says that Mauricio Pochettino is on the lookout for a new right-back whilst Kyle Walker recovers from a pelvic injury.
The London Evening Standard has reported that the Spurs captain is moving closer to a £5 million transfer to the KC Stadium. He'd follow midfielder Jake Livermore to Humberside, who made his loan deal at Hull permanent towards the end of last week.
Talks are said to continue this week and will be concluded once Dawson agrees personal term with Steve Bruce's side.
A couple of reports this morning suggested that Swansea City left-back Ben Davies could be the first signing of the Mauricio Pochettino era, and Goal.com have suggested than £8 million deal could be agreed for the 21-year-old left-back, which may raise questions over the future of Danny Rose.
Goal have also suggested that Spurs will try to sign striker Wilfried Bony, with the Swans wanting around £20 million for the Ivory Cost forward, who had an impressive debut season in the Premier League.
According to the report, Tottenham think they can come to a compromise for a striker who scored 26 goals in all competitions last season, and there are suggestions that it could lead to midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson returning to the Liberty Stadium on loan - where he had a spell prior to his move to White Hart Lane in 2012.
