Chances of Arsenal signing Mario Balotelli currently look dead in the water.
Goal claimed in mid-June: "Arsene Wenger will meet with Mario Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola on Saturday as Arsenal close in on the £25 million signing of the Italy striker."
But after Wenger decried links with the striker as 'pure invention', last week, Balotelli's agent has now addressed the reports himself.
That appears about as cut-and-dry as you can get on the matter, with Balotelli's future previously a hot topic of debate in Milan, especially after vice-president Barbara Berlusconi described him as replaceable.
Raiola went onto defend Balotelli from criticism the striker faced in his homeland following Italy's group stage exit from the tournament, in which he was substituted at half-time.
If Milan stick to their word on Balotelli, and Wenger is adamant on his, then the former Manchester City striker is unlikely to be bringing his unique talents to the Premier League any time soon.
