Arsenal transfer news: £23m Khedira move mooted; Sanchez prefers Arsenal

Arsenal v Southampton 2012 Pregame with Schneiderlin

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates this morning.

Arsenal are being linked heavily with two holding midfielders this morning.

Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin recently admitted he was unsure over his long-term future at St Marys - suggesting he could follow Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana out of the exit door.

The Saints are set to offer him the captaincy in order to stay at the club but Arsene Wenger is believed ready to splash out up to £20 million on the 24-year-old French international.

However it is also being reported that Arsenal are also keeping tabs on Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira. Links with the German international are nothing new but now a fee is being put to the reported interest.

The Gunners are said ready to splash out £23 million on his services.

Khedira is also close friends with Arsenal star Mesut Ozil which could also give the deal an extra positive edge.

Meanwhile the Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez is believed to prefer Arsenal over Manchester United or Liverpool.

The forward is ready to exit Barcelona this summer in order to receive regular first-team football. He has just returned home after the World Cup yesterday and is now set to choose his future destination.

Manchester United and Liverpool are also said to be keen - although reports in Italy would have you believe the Bianconeri have already agreed a deal with the player.

Barca are said to want 25 million euros for the services of Alexis - a fee Juve are not willing to spend, giving Arsenal hope of snapping up this superstar.
