Arsenal transfer news: £42m double deal suggested; Spurs rivals in striker hunt

Arsenal v Southampton 2012 Pregame with Schneiderlin

All the latest transfer news and gossip from The Emirates this morning.

Arsenal are reportedly lining up a £42 million double deal to sign Alexis Sanchez and Morgan Schneiderlin. The Barcelona and Southampton stars have both been linked with The Gunners this summer, and now reports from France suggest they are Arsene Wenger's main transfer targets this summer.

Sanchez is believed to want a move away from Barcelona this summer for regular first-team football, although he reportedly agreed terms with Juventus yesterday.

Meanwhile Schneiderlin commented on his future Friday - admitting he may be tempted to leave the South-Coast club this summer for pastures new.

However a cheaper option would be Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier - who Arsenal are reportedly ready to rekindle their interest in.

The French international had a poor 2013-14 but still has bags of promise and has been compared to former Arsenal man Samir Nasri in the past.

He is said to be available for around £7.5 million this summer.

Tottenham are reportedly set to beat Arsenal to striker target Loic Remy. The French international has long been linked with a move to The Emirates - and was even spotted at the club's final game of the season last year.

However, Olivier Giroud remains Arsenal's first-choice striker, and The Gunners can offer him no guarantees over first-team football.

He would likely get more game time at White Hart Lane so is therefore said to be favouring a deal to join up with Mauricio Pochettino and not Arsene Wenger.
