Spurs transfer news: £30m man going nowhere; £8m left-back solution linked

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Erik Lamela will not be joining Inter Milan next season if the latest reports are to be believed.

The Argentine did not enjoy the best of debut seasons at Tottenham Hotspur, but despite being linked with the exit, it appears Spurs want to keep him at the club for a while yet.

The Express has picked up on an interview Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio gave to Gazzetta dello Sport in which he said, “Lamela is a dream that we haven’t been given a chance to realise; simply because Tottenham don’t want to put him in the market.”

Given that the player only arrived at the club last summer that is no surprise. And the new man in charge will be hoping to get the best out of his countryman, who was strongly tipped to be a success following his £30million move from Roma.

In other news, the Mirror reports that Mauricio Pochettino wants to make Swansea City left-back Ben Davies his first Tottenham signing for £8million.

Spurs are said to have approached the Swans over a possible deal for Davies, who could solve what has been something of a problem position for the North London side in recent times, despite the presence of both Danny Rose and Zeki Fryers.
