Manchester United have just made Luke Shaw the most expensive teenager in the world after spending a reported £30 million on the Southampton left-back. The talented speedster is still just 18-years-old and represents a massive investment from Manchester United, as Patrice Evra reaches the advent of his sterling career.
Southampton have now seen the likes of Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain come through the ranks before leaving - with Adam Lallana seemingly next on the list.
A combination of good coaching and excellent scouting has seen The Saints become one of the worlds leaders in producing young talent.
With the likes of Callum Chambers, James Ward-Prowse and Harrison Reed all now coming through the system - that trend does not look like ending.
So Shaw knows he has much to be thankful for, and he has sent his thanks on Twitter.
Not only did he thank Southampton for all their work over the years, and wish the club well in their future, he went on to thank all the well wishers on his move to United...
