Vidal has been at the top of his game for over three years, having moved to the Italian champions in the summer of 2011 following four seasons at Bayer Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, Pogba failed to convince then Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to give him a regular place in the Red Devils’ starting line-up and left for Juventus in the summer of 2012.
In his two years in Turin, the France international has consolidated his place as one of the best young players in world football, if not the best. A complete midfielder, Pogba can launch attacking moves as well as break opposition’s play. And he is only 21.
Perhaps that is why outgoing United defender Rio Ferdinand prefers Pogba to the already finished article Vidal, who is 27.
Ferdinand is set to leave United this summer, but he was still a key player for the Manchester outfit in 2012 when Pogba left Old Trafford for the Juventus Stadium. Wasn’t the former England international then aware of the potential that Pogba has?
Who knows, but Pogba’s performances for Juve in the last two seasons have certainly made Europe’s biggest clubs sit up and take notice.
Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the youngster, while United too have been reported to try to lure him back. Now, Chelsea are preparing to make a massive offer to force Juventus to let go of Pogba, according to Goal.com.
Pogba is unlikely to return to United, at least this summer; after all, at Juventus he has more chances of winning the domestic league title and will feature in next season’s Champions League – a competition that coach Antonio Conte is determined to win.
But could United recruit Vidal this summer? The £50 million-rated Chile international, who is currently on World Cup duty, recently stated that he does not know if he will remain at Juventus next season, and his agent is reportedly in Brazil at the moment trying to negotiate deals with United and Real Madrid.
What happens next remains to be seen...
