Yesterday saw Manchester United finally agree a deal to sign Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao - after many months of negotiating came to an end in a couple of days of madness.
Then, not long after that deal was confirmed, rumours began emerging that Luke Shaw would be undergoing a medical at Carrington on Friday.
Those rumours quickly gained momentum and this afternoon it was confirmed that Luke Shaw is now a Manchester United player.
The deal, believed to be worth around £30-34 million, sees Shaw become the second big departure from Southampton this summer following Rickie Lambert's switch to Liverpool - and he becomes Louis van Gaal's second signing as United boss.
He is also the world's most expensive teenager and third most expensive defender.
"I am thrilled and excited to be joining Manchester United. I have been at Southampton since I was eight years old and I would like to thank them and the fans for everything they have done for me. I want to continue to progress my career and joining United is the ideal place for me to do that..."
Assistant manager Ryan Giggs has also had his say, stating:
"Luke is a very talented young left-back with great potential. He has developed immensely during his time at Southampton and has all the attributes to become a top player."
Of course United have also released a picture or two of the player in United colours for the first time.
He will now battle it out with Patrice Evra for the left-back slot at Old Trafford.
