United's new Spanish star has tweeted his appreciation of the welcome he received from his new team's supporters.
One of the first things new Manchester United signing Ander Herrera did upon arriving at Old Trafford was thank his former club and teammates at Athletic Bilbao, before going on to thank his new fans for the hearty welcome he has received.
And just for good measure, he was quick to update his Twitter profile pic and cover photo to reflect the fact he was now turning out for the famous English club.
Thanks to all Manchester United fans for your kind welcome messages/Gracias a todos los fans del United por vuestros mensajes de bienvenida— Ander Herrera (@anderherrera8) June 27, 2014
It wasn't just the club's supporters that were welcoming the Spaniard, with high profile players such as Juan Mata, David de Gea and Wayne Rooney all sending a message his way on the social networking site.
Herrera joined United yesterday from his hometown club Athletic for a fee close to £30 million, signing a four-year deal with an option for a fifth year.
The 24-year-old is yet to break into the senior Spanish side but is highly regarded as a complete midfielder in his native country, where he was part of the 2011 European Under-21 Championship winning side.
United have missed a natural all round midfielder since Paul Scholes first retired from playing duties, and they will be hopeful that Herrera will provide that to a midfield found wanting at times last season.
