Tyson Chandler sealed his exit from the Knicks this week, as part of six-player trade which sent him to Dallas.
Raymond Felton also signed with Dallas, while the Knicks received Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert, Shane Larkin, Wayne Ellington and two second-round picks in the NBA Draft.
But the question everybody wants to know... is much sought after free agent Carmelo Anthony going to follow him from the Knicks to the Mavs too?
Chandler was even asked about this by reporters, and responded that he would not shy away from trying to persuade Anthony to join him.
He told ESPN: "Absolutely, I'm going to do whatever I can to help the team and the organization.
"Dallas isn't a bad place to be. It's a great opportunity, and clearly we've done it in the past. It's not a hard place to sell. I'm going to do whatever it takes."
However, the Mavs could go one better. A team source is claimed to have told ESPNDallas that they are hoping to lure free agent LeBron James after he opted out of his Miami Heat deal to explore his options.
"It makes us real players for LeBron [or] Carmelo."
Dallas have the available cap space and believe adding Chandler makes them better competitors for a deep play-off run next season.
This was a team which after all, despite finishing eighth in the Western Conference, took eventual champions San Antonio to a Game 7.
They appear determined to add another top star to their ranks. The question is who?
