Tottenham morning news: Former Bayern star refuses to take sides

All the morning news, views and transfer rumours from White Hart Lane...

Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek has urged Tim Krul to remain at the club and not move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The 26-year-old Netherlands international keeper has been linked with a move to Spurs, who are reportedly willing to offer £10 million for him.

‘A move to a so-called bigger club does not always turn out for the best’, the Sunderland Echo quotes him as saying. ‘Tim is still young, and I think, if he stays at Newcastle for another year or two and just gets more experience, he will have a good chance (of going to a top club)’.

Meanwhile, Hull City have made a bid of £4m for Tottenham defender Michael Dawson. That’s according to the Daily Mail, although no other details have been outlined in that particular report.

The same British newspaper has also reported that Tottenham are set to lose out in their bid to sign Divock Origi from Lille.

The 19-year-old striker has been in impressive form for Belgium at the ongoing 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil, and Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal have been linked with a move for the teenager.

It has now been reported by the Daily Mail that the Reds will make a £6m bid for him and will allow him to play for Lille on loan for the 2014-15 season.

Tottenham midfielder Paulinho has also been in the news lately because of his disappointing performances for host nation Brazil.

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has been backed to partner Luiz Gustavo in midfield for the Selecao’s upcoming last-16 clash against Chile, but the former Bayern Munich star has refused to take sides.

‘For me it makes no difference (who plays) because I have to do whatever the coach wants me to do and the other players have to as well’, the Wolfsburg midfielder told

‘(Paulinho and Fernandinho) have different characteristics, but for me and the team as a whole it doesn't change anything because everyone is focused on the same objective."
