Tottenham latest, Brahimi drops hint he'll move, may miss out on Rodriguez

A selection of the latest transfer stories and more involving Tottenham Hotspur this Thursday evening.

One of Tottenham's summer targets has dropped a big hint he will be on the move after the World Cup according to the Daily Express.

They have picked up on quotes from Yacine Brahimi has given to Le Parisien which seems to suggest the 24-year-old midfielder will be leaving Granada.

He said:"I learned from my time at Rennes and in the last two years I have grown and matured.

"My goal is to go to a more upscale club but I still need to improve some things: my scoring, making assists and not just dribbling for the sake of dribbling."

Brahimi is said to have a £12 million clause in his contract with the La Liga side.

The Express is also reporting that Spurs will have to move quickly if they want to land Colombian international James Rodriguez, as he seems to have caught the eye of many in this summer's World Cup.

Napoli are said to be interested in the playmaker and the Monaco player's agent is quoted saying talks have been held with the Serie A side by the Italian press.

Aytekin Erayabakan said: "But the Neapolitans are not the only ones that are following Rodriguez. Let's see what the future holds.

"There are several European clubs after him, but it's best not to say anything at the moment.

"How much will he cost? I don't know. But what I can say is that his price has increased after the way he's played these past few months."

One man who was linked with a move away from White Hart Lane towards the end of last season was Jan Vertonghen, but the defender has revealed he has had a phone conversation with new Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino, and Vertonghen has said he is impressed with what the Argentine did at Southampton.

He's quoted saying: “I was very impressed by Southampton in the last two years, from their style of play and the manager. I think it’s a great appointment for Tottenham.”
