Serie A transfer latest: Watford eye Milan legend, Inter deny Jovetic interest

All the latest summer transfer news from Serie A...

After finishing in fifth place, Inter Milan are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer. They have already snapped up Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic on a free transfer, but they have been linked with a host of other names as Walter Mazzarri starts to build a side following Erick Thohir's takeover.

Three of those names are midfielders Yann M'Vila and Mario Suarez from Rubin Kazan and Atletico Madrid respectively, as well as Manchester City's former Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic - and sporting director Piero Ausilio has been speaking on the possibility of all three.

"M’Vila? It’s an opportunity. Mario Suarez? Impossible? Jovetic? No," he said.

Lazio are another side looking to strengthen this summer, and they have agreed a fee believed to be in the region of €5.5m with Parma for their midfielder Marco Parolo. The 29-year-old was in Cesare Prandelli's World Cup squad but played a bit-part role, and Lazio president Claudio Lotito says it's now up to the player to decide over the move, whilst outlining why Lazio are a great choice.

"We have reached an agreement between the clubs," Lotito said. "Now all we need to do is wait for the player, who needs to say what he will do. Today, Lazio is one of the four teams in Serie A with growing profits and one which has had sporting results. It wasn’t like that when I took them and saved them from the risk of collapse. And I have put initiatives for change out there."

One of the more surprising links of the day has to be surrounding former AC Milan legend Massimo Ambrosini. The 36-year-old spent last season with Fiorentina but is now a free agent, and speculation suggests that Watford - owned by Giampaolo Pozzo and managed by Giuseppe Sannino - could look to bring the Italian to Vicarage Road in a shock deal.
