Manchester United legend and assistant manager has confirmed Ander Herrera will be on the club's pre-season tour.
The Spaniard clinched his switch to Old Trafford on Thursday afternoon, becoming the club's first major summer signing.
Giggs told ManUtd.com: "I’m delighted he has made the decision to come to Manchester and play his part in the club’s future. I’m looking forward to seeing him in action on our summer tour to America.
"Ander is a fantastic young player, with great energy and creativity. We believe him to be one of the brightest young prospects in Spain and I am certain he will be a big hit with the United fans."
The highlight of that pre-season tour is the August 2 clash with Real Madrid, an opponent Herrera is familiar with.
It is the benefit of signing a player early, to allow them crucial bonding time with teammates and allow them to adjust themselves to playing for the club.
This was sadly lacking for Marouane Fellaini last season, and was illustrated in the Belgian's performances for the Red Devils.
With many United players set to join up with the US tour late due to an extended break from World Cup commitments, Herrera's presence adds a buzz which the Red Devils may have lacked - and from a commercial point of view as well as a football one, it's savvy to get him in early.
Ed Woodward has finally delivered. Now the question is how many more.
