Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has apologised for his behaviour during Belgium’s match against Russia at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

The 21-year-old refused to shake hands with Belgium coach Marc Wilmots after being substituted in the 57th minute during their 1-0 win on Sunday.

The former Anderlecht youngster then gestured at Wilmots and kicked up a tantrum on the bench, with teammate Anthony Vanden Borre failing to pacify him.

However, Lukaku has now apologised for his actions, according to Wilmots.

‘I talked to Romelu and it was a good chat’, ESPN quotes him as saying. ‘I know very well how he feels... Neither Romelu nor myself were happy with the game he had and his reaction.

'He has apologised and for me that is the end of the story. I don't look back -- I look at the future. That is what interests me’.

Meanwhile, Chelsea winger Willian has backed his Brazil teammate Neymar to step up his game against Chile in the round of 16.

The Barcelona forward has scored four goals in three matches, but Willian expects the 22-year-old to take his game to a whole new level against their South American opponents.

‘I don't think he's even gotten started yet’, he told reporters. ‘I think that the potential that Neymar has means he can do much more for the team. Everyone knows the quality that he has’.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has once again hailed winger Eden Hazard and claims that he is the kind of player who brings ‘magic’ to football matches.

The Portuguese boss, who was critical of the 23-year-old's defensive abilities last season, believes that the former Lille star has evolved into a better player.

‘I understand this beauty and these magic moments he brings to the game are what the fans enjoy the most’, Chelsea’s official website quotes him as saying.

‘Obviously the fans enjoy and respect people like Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta, John Terry - people that are so stable during the season and do an incredible job for the team - but people like Eden bring the magic and win matches in one action... He had a big evolution and he scored more goals than before’.
